THIS MONTH!
With Our Special Guest, Marleah Keuler
February 25 | 1 pm CST
As senior living enters 2026, risk is no longer confined to isolated incidents or compliance checklists. Regulatory pressure, professional liability exposure, workforce challenges, and resident and family expectations are converging requiring leaders to think more proactively about how risk is identified, managed, and mitigated across their organizations.
In this Senior Living Empower Hour session, Rebecca Adelman, Esq. is joined by Marleah Keuler Grahek, LNHA, CPHRM, Senior Risk Analyst with Shomer (an Alera Group company), to explore the key areas of risk management senior living leaders must prioritize in 2026.
Bringing together legal, claims, insurance, and operational perspectives, this conversation will focus on practical strategies for managing risk before it escalates particularly in areas where leadership decisions have the greatest downstream impact. Topics will include communication and resolution practices, incident investigation and response, and the role of workplace culture and staff retention as core risk drivers.
Rather than treating these issues in silos, this session examines how regulation, insurance, operations, and leadership behavior intersect in real communities and how proactive alignment across those areas can reduce exposure, strengthen defensibility, and support better outcomes for residents, families, and staff.
